Michael Barnes Joins Kennedy/Jenks Consultants as a Senior Project Manager

Michael J. Barnes, P.E., joins Kennedy/Jenks Consultants as a Senior Project Manager in the Water Environment Group. He has more than 30 years of experience and has worked for the Fairfield-Suisun Sewer District in California as well as for several consulting firms.

Barnes is a civil engineer with extensive experience in both public and private sectors, managing the planning, design, construction oversight, and operation and maintenance (O&M) of wastewater, water, and recycled water systems. He has also managed and implemented capital improvement programs and wastewater infrastructure programs; developed and administered specialized contract documents for O&M, contract operations, SCADA systems, and design­build projects; and conducted O&M efficiency analyses.

“Mike Barnes has a reputation for getting the job done,” says Meredith Durant, Kennedy/Jenks Vice President. “His broad background in project management and execution and his business development skills will greatly benefit both our wastewater teams and our clients.”

Barnes has a BS in Civil Engineering from Lafayette College and an MBA from St. Mary’s College. He is registered as a Professional Engineer in California and Colorado.
