Our job is to put ourselves in your shoes from the very start of your redevelopment project.
Our track record is a history of effective strategies, formulated hand in hand with our clients, to steer their redevelopment projects to timely completion.
Keeping Projects on the Critical Path to Success
Cost-Effective, Timely Site Assessment and Remediation
If contamination is found on a property, our team of geologists, engineers, and scientists assesses the extent and nature of the contamination and develops cleanup strategies to match the expected use of the site. To minimize cost and schedule impacts, we develop remediation strategies in conjunction with overall site planning. For instance, contaminated soil may be placed under roadways, areas unsuitable for occupied buildings can be made into green zones, and groundwater treatment equipment can be located in underground vaults.
Expediting Regulatory Approval
Our history of successful planning and negotiation toward environmental compliance on behalf of clients has earned us the respect of those at the highest levels of the regulatory community.
Founded in 1919, Kennedy/Jenks offers an unusually extensive knowledge of environmental conditions throughout the West, and unusually strong relationships with regulators.
Allow us to strategize with you about an effective path toward rapid regulatory approvals for your redevelopment projects.
From Infrastructure to Construction Support
Beyond site cleanup, Kennedy/Jenks provides extensive services for initial site development. Drawing on our core experience of more than 85 years supplying water and wastewater services, we offer:
Proven Commitment to Sustainable Design
Kennedy/Jenks is committed to incorporating sustainability into every one of our projects. Going far beyond fashionable lip service to being “green,” Kennedy/Jenks has forged a Sustainability Program called GreenSteps that commits the firm to educate, demonstrate, and innovate in the area of sustainability – inside our offices and beyond.
We recognize the need to establish the business case for sustainability, examining the life-cycle costs and benefits of potential alternatives in light of finite resources. Sustainable solutions are often found to be the most cost-effective.
The University of California, National Park Service, City of Oxnard, and Port of Portland are just a few of the clients for whom Kennedy/Jenks has applied the principles of sustainable planning and design.
A number of Kennedy/Jenks personnel are accredited to help our clients gain LEED™ certification of their facilities to meet the standards established by the U.S. Green Building Council.
We strive to plan and design projects that will have limited environmental impact, and we employ sustainability principles from project development through design and construction.

Produced Water Reclamation ProjectBy 2010, California?s demand for water will outstrip the state?s water delivery system. A promising source of additional water supply comes from the oil industry. ?Produced water,? a by-product of oil production, is currently injected back into the ground ? an expensive, wasteful process that prevents the water from being reclaimed and reused. |
