Potable Water System Recapitalization, Phase 1 Design/Build
Naval Base, Guam
Kennedy/Jenks provided planning, design, and construction support for the Potable Water System Recapitalization, a program to upgrade the existing water system at the Naval Base in Guam.
Kennedy/Jenks was DCK Pacific’s Designer of Record for an addition to the existing Navy Pump Station, including four new 500-HP 5,000-gpm pumps and variable frequency drives and a second 24-inch suction line from the Navy Reservoir. By optimizing the layout of piping in conformance with Hydraulic Institute standards, we reduced the costs for the 13.5-mgd raw water pump station.
Additional scope included 3 miles of new 30-inch raw water transmission main; approximately 11,000 LF of new water mains at Camp Covington, the X-Ray, Romeo and Sierra Wharves.
