Blair Waterway Widening Stormwater Compliance, Port of Tacoma

Tacoma, Washington

The Blair Waterway Widening project was undertaken to provide unimpeded access for post-Panamax container vessels that will call on the Blair Waterway’s existing and future container terminals. Most of the dredge spoils were to be disposed of at sea; half a million cubic yards of suitable excavated material were being stockpiled to raise the level of the former Kaiser site, as part of future container terminal development. Kennedy/Jenks, as a sub-consultant to Berger/ABAM, provided stormwater compliance, permitting and erosion/sediment control engineering for stockpiling the excavated material.
