Gayle Roberts is a senior executive with over 37 years of experience in the consulting engineering industry. She most recently served as Chair of the Board of Stanley Consultants, and its parent company, SC Companies. Stanley Consultants is a global engineering service provider recognized in the engineering industry with private and governmental clients in the energy, water, and transportation sectors. Prior to her election as Chair, Ms. Roberts served as the company’s president and chief executive officer.
Her board experience includes a strong understanding of corporate governance and board leadership, which encourages forward thinking board discussions. As Chair of the board, she also served as Chair of the Executive/Governance Committee.
She has been recognized for her contributions to the engineering industry, with multiple awards including; 2018 Engineering News Record Legacy Award, Professional Achievement Citation in Engineering (PACE) Award from the Iowa State University Alumni Association; Iowa State University Chemical and Biological Engineering Hall of Fame; Voice of the Engineer Award from the Iowa Engineering Society; 50% Solution Award from the Iowa Women’s Foundation; Large Company Innovation and Leadership Category of the Iowa Women of Innovation Award from the Technology Association of America; Athena Award from The Women’s Connection; and the Upward Mobility Award from the Society of Women Engineers.
Ms. Roberts serves as senior vice chair and executive committee member of the American Council of Engineering Companies, and was a member of the Executive Committee on the American Council of Engineering Companies Design Professionals Coalition.
Ms. Roberts is a former president and Board member of Iowa Chapter, American Council of Engineering Companies; Board member of St. Ambrose University College Board of Trustees from 2008 to 2014, and served on the Audit Committee and the Academic Affairs Committee; Engineers Without Borders USA from 2012-2015, served as a director and a member of the Development Committee; The University of Iowa College of Engineering Advisory Board, served from 2013-2016, as a director; Iowa State University Chemical and Biological Engineering Department, College of Engineering, from 2002-2007 and 2010-2012, served on the Advisory Board for 3-terms, including one year as president.
She is a member the National Association of Corporate Directors and completed the Director Professionalism training.
