Josh is a leader in the investigation and remediation of environmental sites, as well as implementation of new technologies for environmental applications. Based in KJ’s Mission, Kansas office, Josh currently manages a wide array of projects for several industrial clients, addressing sites impacted with petroleum hydrocarbons, nutrients, pesticides, PCBs, and volatile organic compounds.

He is also the Director of Quality for KJ’s Industrial/Environmental Business Unit, a member of the firm’s Project Management Office, and a member of the firm’s Board of Directors. During his tenure with KJ, he has worked on a variety of projects that address environmental issues to make sites safe for human health and the environment.

Keys to your success?

My success has hinged on having great people to work with throughout my career, both as mentors as well as part of a team.  Aiding in my success is habitually asking why and how we can do a task, project, or process better or more efficiently.  Being a distance runner, you learn that it is often the little things that add up and it takes a different approach to cover the distance, whether in a race or life, then just sprinting to the end.

What are you passionate about?

I am passionate about learning and doing the best job I can, whether it is as a father, husband, or consultant. In our field, learning is a necessity to understand the environment and new technological developments to better serve our clients. The more we learn about the environment, the more we can design solutions for remediating the environment that optimize natural processes that may already be working in our favor. I’ve tried to instill this thirst for knowledge in my children by answering their ‘why’ questions. Besides being able to fill their heads with subjects I really enjoy, explaining a complex engineering or environmental subject to a seven-year-old really helps you understand how well of a grasp you have on a subject.
