Since 2022, KJ has been providing professional engineering services for the planning, design, and construction of two important sewer lines serving the area, and the team officially broke ground in mid-February.
The groundbreaking was a major milestone for the project that will accommodate anticipated growth in the area that is home to nearly 50 wineries, a multitude of boutique and full-service resorts, and may serve as the host site for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics equestrian sports.
This is a high-profile project, made possible by ARPA and EPA funding, that will have a major impact on this area. This work will reduce reliance on septic systems, protect groundwater quality, and support economic development of Temecula’s Wine Country.
— Ed Yang, KJ's California Client Service Director
The Project will make sanitary sewer more readily available in the region, reducing the number of septic tanks adjacent to nearby Rancho California Water District’s wellhead protection area.
KJ provided professional engineering services across these two major sewer lines for the planning, design, and construction of over 37,200 linear feet of 8-inch through 15-inch gravity sewer lines and service laterals to adjacent properties. The project received $11.6 from the American Rescue Plan Act, courtesy of the County of Riverside, and $2 million from the USEPA’s State and Tribal Assistance Grants. Congratulations to the entire team!
