Kennedy Jenks (KJ) – known for its tailored engineering and science-based solutions for private and public clients – is thrilled to announce the appointment of Katie Jones, Assoc. DBIA, PE, as Chief Strategy and Growth Officer. As KJ expands, Katie will ensure that growth is intentional, scalable, and sustainable. With over two decades of experience leading water programs for a wide array of clients, Katie brings a wealth of expertise and a dynamic, relationship-driven energy to her new role.
As a Vice President and employee owner, Katie will be responsible for overseeing Kennedy Jenks’ transformative Strategic Plan aiming to empower and enhance our communities and our people. She will also play a crucial role in continually assessing short- and long-term industry trends, opportunities, risks, acquisitions, and competitive impacts.
Katie’s diverse background includes delivering complex and high-quality study, design and design-build projects to federal, municipal, and industrial clients. Her technical skills, business acumen, project delivery expertise, and collaborative approach have consistently driven value for clients. Throughout her career, Katie has continually sought to enhance team performance through collaboration, transparency, communication, and trust, leading with passion and purpose.

Katie studied chemical engineering and accounting at Clemson University and earned a master’s degree in environmental engineering and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
