Katie Jones is a Vice President and Chief Strategy and Growth Officer at Kennedy Jenks (KJ). She leads the company’s strategic growth efforts with a focus on long-term impact and practical results.
As Chief Strategy and Growth Officer, Katie oversees strategic initiatives and the development of new business and expansion opportunities. Her combination of technical skills, business acumen, and project delivery experience provides value for both clients and KJ’s employee-owners.
With over 20 years of experience in the water sector, Katie has led infrastructure planning and engineering programs for federal, public, and private partners and has delivered complex study, design, and design-build projects. Katie has supported clients through onsite and remote operational assistance, full-scale optimization, and pilot studies. Her work has helped improve compliance, reduce costs, and avoid capital expenses. She has served as a subject matter expert in water treatment, wastewater treatment, resource recovery and reuse, and water quality permitting.
A love of process engineering and treatability studies has honed Katie’s analytical and problem-solving skills. Managing unexpected results and roadblocks forced her to exercise flexibility, creative thinking, and careful listening. She brings a collaborative and results-oriented approach to every engagement, internal or external.
Katie studied chemical engineering and accounting at Clemson University and earned a master’s degree in environmental engineering and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
