How to Hide a Pump Station in Plain Site

Kennedy Jenks has partnered with Tahoe City Public Utilities Department to develop and design their new 1-MGD water treatment plant in the pristine environment of Lake Tahoe. This presentation focuses on the need for the new water treatment plant and unique challenges and solutions faced during design and construction of the submersible pump station.

Spencer Archer

Spencer Archer has over 17 years of collaborative project delivery experience for municipal, Federal and industrial clients. He has focused on the design, construction, commissioning, O&M and project management of various treatment facilities and other challenging projects. He has successfully developed and managed large programs for treatment systems and has acted as the Chief Plant Operator, site manager and successfully trained and transitioned O&M responsibilities to local owners. Spencer is a proactive Project Manager / Construction Manager and has been responsible for project accounting, technical reviews, quality assurance/quality control, and safety. Project sizes have ranged from annual multi-million-dollar accounts to one-time fixed-priced projects up to $50M.

Lisa Vance has over 5 years of engineering, construction design, and construction management experience. She has experience with 6-inch to 84-inch pipeline projects via open trench, microtunneling, and other technologies for new water and sewer lines. In addition, she has specialized in construction management of wastewater infrastructure including four pump station projects and multiple plant rehabilitation projects.

Steve Timko

Steve Timko is a water quality specialist in the Applied Research Group at Kennedy Jenks, and focuses on the treatment of contaminants such as PFAS, VOCs, and arsenic. His project experience additionally spans potable reuse, water and wastewater treatment, and stormwater treatment and conveyance.
